I have a paper submitted when I worked for institution A, revised and accepted when I was in between jobs, and I will receive the proofs just before I start working for institution B. Should I change the affiliation and email? And does it matter?
These are good questions, as I’ve known a few people in a similar situation and they were equally confused. Another reader submitted the following response:
I work on a Springer/Nature journal, and if you change your e-mail at the proof stage, it may delay the production of the article, and thus possibly delay the publication of the article. I have seen this happen a few times.
