Matthew J. Brown, recently professor of philosophy at the University of Texas at Dallas, has moved to Southern Illinois University (SIU), where he is the Jo Ann & Donald N. Boydston Chair of American Philosophy and the
Director of SIU’s Center for Dewey Studies.

Professor Brown works on 19th and 20th Century philosophy, especially American Pragmatism, the history and philosophy of science, cognitive science, and comics studies. He is the author of Science and Moral Imagination: A New Ideal for Values in Science, among other works. You can check out his writings here and here.

He took up his positio nat SIU this past August.
